In the past 10 years or so, many jobs have become available because of changes that took place during the information age, and many jobs have become easier thanks to new technology, an example of this would be; a school register, around 15 years ago this would have all been done by pen and paper, and therefore it would be prone to going missing or getting mixed up with all the other paper work teachers had to deal with, it was generally unreliable and often would end up getting lost. Now we can use computers to take registers in schools, computers are much more convenient as it is easier to load up a database and enter the data you need to than writing it all out on paper, it's easier to find as you are able to organise each register. Copies are much easier to make and can be sent via email and they can be backed up just in case they get deleted accidentally. Another job that has been changed due to IT would be the postal service, With the proliferation of email and cell phones, including text and instant messaging services, consumers no longer rely on the Postal Service to communicate with friends and family. Instead of buying stamps to mail a bill payment computer owners with an Internet connection can pay their bills online. The USPS reported that between 2000 and 2009, the number of mail collection boxes decreased by half nationally. To recoup lost revenues, the USPS has raised the price of stamps over the years. Communication between family members is made easier because of instant messaging and video chat using programs like Skype and therefore sending physical mail takes longer and is more expensive.
Some jobs that have come around because of IT are: Game Designer, gaming has become very popular and therefore game design has become a very popular job as there is a high demand for games. Before computers were around, it was extremely hard to program games, but new technology and new software allows game programmers to easily create games faster than before, a game studio is likely to come out with several games a year due to these advances in technology.
YouTube video maker: YouTube has become a extremely popular site for sharing and making videos, so much so that people can make a lot of money from it. Once someones channel becomes popular enough they will be offered a membership, this means that they will get paid if they continue to make videos with continuous popularity. Many people make a living from doing this, and this would have never been around 10 years ago because the internet wasn't as accessible as it is today, and making and sharing videos wasn't as easy back then as it is now.
Website designer: Many companies aren't able to create a website as it requires many skills to do so, that's why website design has become a popular job, as most businesses today require a website in order to function correctly, this means that they will need to contact web designers, with the advancement in software, web design has become a lot easier and quicker to do, software like Dreamweaver makes creating websites much easier as they are no longer needed to understand html in order to create websites.
